Art Fair

Big Springs Elementary School hosted an Art Fair today.  The cafeteria was decorated with displays of framed watercolor paintings created by each of the children at Big Springs.  The students in each class painted a picture based upon a specific topic.  The children in Calleigh's class painted a picture of their family.  The children in Carson's class painted a picture of a flower.  During the Art Fair, parents were given the option to purchase their child's framed paintings, and a portion of the proceeds goes back to the school.  It is a great fundraiser!  Here are the kid's paintings:

Calleigh, Carson, Andi, Michael, and Sammy.  Great job, Calleigh!

Red flower - it has great texture because he put salt crystals on the wet paint and it gave it this wonderful 3 dimensional look.  Very cool.

OK, so tell me how much did you pay? I would have paid 1 million dollars. Funny that you posted this. I went to our PTO meeting Tuesday night and we were talking about doing an art fair and having the parents buy the kids art work to raise money for school. We had quite a few people that were really negative saying that it wouldnt fly.I thought it was a fablous idea, let me know how it went? Did you but it already framed?

LOVE the art work. Calleigh, your picture of your family was wonderful. And Carson, your flower was outstanding. These will look great hanging in your home. Have a great day at school today and keep drawing.

Love you lots,
